Basic computer training for people in very remote places
In the village of Bohot, 20 kilometres from Pleven in North-West Bulgaria, we organized a 40 hours computer training for villagers who had just recently finalized their second-chance basic education course and were still unemployed. Basic ICT knowledge and skills would be useful – if not necessary – for searching and obtaining employment. The long-term goal was to prepare learners to be able to search for job offers online and eventually use the acquired skills and knowledge in a working setting. The course was provided in cooperation with the local primary school and followed official VET standards in Bulgaria so that it could result in recognized certification.
